1. URL Domains
If you need to change the URL used to access Vuture, for example because of company name change, please use the process below:
Note that this is a chargeable update and your Account Manager will be able to provide you with pricing.
Contact Vuture to agree your new URL
Note that there are three URLs used to access Vuture (not including URL for front-end websites created with the web module).
Usually you will just be changing the "companyname" part of the URL unless you are using your own "Vanity URL" for any of the above.
If your new URL will be using a domain controlled by yourselves (as opposed to .
vuturevx.com) then your IT department will need to be involved to update DNS records and SSL certificates.
Vuture plans the following steps to update the URL and agrees a time with you to implement
- Agree the three new URLs with the client
- Create DNS A record entries for the three new URLs pointing them at the IP address of the client's instance
- Add bindings for the sites and templates web sites
- Allow 24 hours for DNS to propagate
- Update Vx Manager with the new URLs
- Redeploy the instance
- Update entries in tblSite.SiteURL and tblSite.StagingURL to replace the old domain with the new (this step is not required for a back-end URL change)
DECLARE @SitesURL NVARCHAR( 255)
SET @SitesURL = 'new_site_url'
UPDATE tblSite SET
SiteURL = @SitesURL + '/' + Convert(NVARCHAR( 255),CustomerId) + '/' + Convert(NVARCHAR(255),SiteId),
StagingURL = @SitesURL + '/' + Convert(NVARCHAR( 255),CustomerId) + '/' + Convert(NVARCHAR(255),SiteId)
WHERE SiteTypeId = 2
- Check for any references to the old URLs in exchange-sites and update to the new domain
- Set-up forwarders from the old URLs to the new URLs
Note this does not include any changes for existing files e.g. doing a search and replace for the company name or logos
2. FROM domains
If you need to change the FROM domains used as part of the sending FROM address, for example because of company name change, please use the process below:
Note that this is not a chargeable service.

How to Set up SPF Records for Vuture
You should ensure there is an SPF record for each sending domain used by Vuture.
SPF records are TXT DNS records that need to be published in public DNS. Your IT department should be able to help you create or modify these DNS records. If Vuture owns or manages any of your sending domains we will set up these records for you.
If you already have an SPF record
We have a single central domain that includes all our sending IP addresses: To use this add the following SPF include to your existing record:
include:spf.vx-email.com
However, SPF has a limit of ten DNS lookups allowed. This include has multiple lookups. If adding the spf.vx-email.com include puts you over your lookup limit you can use one of the following regional includes in place of "spf.vx-email.com":
UK and Europe: spf-uk.vx-email.com
US: spf-us.vx-email.com
Canada: spf1-ca.vx-email.com
Asia Pacific: spf1-apac.vx-email.com
Please contact Vuture support if you need assistance for checking your SPF record
Example SPF records
Here are some examples of what your SPF record might look like after adding the Vuture entry, if you have an existing record:
v=spf1 include:_netblocks.mimecast.com include:spf.vx-email.com ~all
v=spf1 include:spf.postini.com include:spf-us.vx-email.com ~all
v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:spf-uk.vx-email.com ~all
If you don't already have an SPF record
If you don't have an existing SPF record, e.g. because you set up a new sending domain for Vuture due to change of company domain then please create the following DNS record:
v=spf1 include:spf.vx-email.com ~all
Checking SPF records
Kitterman's SPF Record Testing Tools are very useful:
http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html
1. Does my domain already have an SPF record? What is it? Is it valid?
Enter the sending domain you want to check here and the tool will tell you if an SPF record already exists and if it is valid.
2. Is this SPF record valid - syntactically correct?
Use this tool to check the format of a proposed SPF record change before applying it.
3. Test an SPF record
This allows more complex testing and requires the IP address, EHLO of your Vuture email server. The Vuture technical team would typically use this to verify any SPF change you plan to make or have made.
