The Email Deliverability Healthcheck is designed to provide step-by-step best practice recommendations to optimize your email sending setup and give you the best chance of getting your emails to your recipient's inbox.

All Healthchecks can be enabled on a per role basis by enabling Admin>Roles>Admin>Healthchecks

Once you have enabled the Email deliverability healthcheck, you can access it by clicking on "Help.Healthchecks" from the home screen then clicking on Email Deliverability Healthcheck.

The Healthcheck looks at the following areas of your system:

• Email Setup
  • Sending IP - This is the IP that your emails will be sent from. If you need to allow sending from an IP this is the IP you need to give them.
  • Bounce Processing thresholds
    • Hard Bounces - You should make sure that you set a hard bounce threshold of at least 2.
    • Soft Bounces - You should make sure that you set a soft bounce threshold of at least 10.
  • Authentication
    • From: Addresses. This section shows you all of the from address have been used to send emails from your instance. We also show you whether or not you have authorised domains. 
    • Reply To: Addresses - This section shows you what reply to addresses have been used. Check to see whether your users are using real email addresses. 
    • Custom Return Path - This section shows you whether you have a Custom return-path. 
    • SPF - This section shows you whether you have SPF correctly configured.
    • DKIM - This section shows whether DKIM is correctly configured. Please note that you must have a Custom Return-Path to be able to configure DKIM.
  • Throttling - We suggest that you set a throttling threshold of at least 1 second.
• Email Sending
  • Suspicious User names - This section shows you email addresses that we consider to be suspicious and we would suggest removing from your list. 
  • Suspicious Domains  - This section shows you any email domains that we consider to be suspicious. We suggest that you remove them from your list. 
  • Generic Usernames - This shows you a list of all the generic usernames in your list that have not opened an email in the last 180 days. We suggest removing these from your list. 

Each section is colour coded.  Green means you are following our recommended best practice. Orange means that there is a warning or recommendation. Red is a problem which requires action.

Email best practice changes over time, so we recommend reviewing the healthcheck quarterly, to check for new best practice advice and to make sure nothing has changed in your system.
