It is possible to setup a custom URL to point at a particular email landing page.
For example you may have a registration page for your event which has its URL in the format:
https://my-vuture-url.com/3/16/landing-pages/rsvp.asp
but you would like visitors to be able to access this page through a friendlier URL (so it looks better on marketing materials and is easier to remember and type) such as:
http://my-event.com (option 1 below - required a new domain)
or
https://my-vuture-url.com/shortlink (option 2 below - uses your existing domain)
This will redirect your visitors to your normal URL. If you want the custom URL to remain in the browser address bar you should use the process described in this article: https://support.vutu.re/hc/en-us/articles/360020565717-Custom-URL-for-an-Email-Campaign
Note that this is a chargeable service - contact your Account Manager for pricing.
Setting up the Custom URL Redirect
Since email landing pages run over HTTPS the simplest solution is to create a redirect from your friendly URL to the normal page URL since this does not require an additional security certificate for the new friendly URL.
To implement this you will need to:
- Register the friendly URL (or create a subdomain of a domain you already own) and point the A record at your Vuture platform. Your Account Manager can provide you with the A record of your Vuture system. Vuture can also register the URL for you if you prefer.
- Let your Account Manager know the friendly URL and the URL of the landing page that it should redirect to.
Allow at least 48 hours to setup a custom URL as it can take up to 24 hours for a new domain registration to be available and we require 24 hours to setup the redirect.
