What is OAuth2?

OAuth 2 is an authorization framework that enables applications to obtain limited access to user accounts on an HTTP service.  

Previously we used standard Microsoft Dynamics authentication to connect to a client's CRM.

 

Who is it for?

If you are using online Dynamics with an on-premise server, you will want to use Dynamics 365 OAuth2 authorization. Note that this requires that you have to configure an App Registration in your Azure AD.

 

Process

  • Register a new application in your Azure Active Directory
  • Create a New Client Secret key
  • Send the OAuth2 Token Endpoints to Vuture.  Vuture will adjust your configuration settings for you.
