1. How do I delete survey templates?
To access survey templates click on the "Templates" link in the top right of the survey home page.
Click on the "Delete" icon to delete a survey template.
Note that survey templates can only be deleted if there are no surveys using the template, the user is a survey administrator and the template is not the default template (which cannot be deleted).
2. How can I find out which container a survey is in from its link?
Please contact Vuture who can check this for you in the back-end by using the following process
3. Why does the Response Total column for my Matrix Multiple Checkbox question not add up to the individual checkbox totals in that row?
The value in the column for each checkbox records the number of times that checkbox was ticked and the percentages in brackets reflect the proportion of these totals for a given row. The Response Total column records the number of unique respondents for each row. This number is likely to be different from the totals of the checkbox columns in that row because some respondents will have ticked more than one (or possibly zero) checkboxes.
For example, in one row with two checkboxes there are three respondents. The first two have ticked both checkboxes and the third one has only ticked the first checkbox. The totals for the two checkboxes will be 3(60%) and 2(40%) but the Total Responses will be 3.
4. How do I find out the survey id (this can be useful for troubleshooting or support requests, such as restores)?
From the survey list screen hover over a link such as the Start Date and in the URL underneath look for SurveyId=123 where 123 will be the survey id.
5. How can survey responses be deleted? Are they actually deleted or just flagged as deleted in the database?
There are two options when deleting survey responses:
- Delete the survey without deleting the responses first - this hides the survey from the interface but does not delete the results from the database so they can be restored later if required.
- Delete the responses then delete the survey - this does delete the survey responses from the database and puts them into a recycled area for a period of 30 days after which they are completely deleted from the system. During the 30 days they can be restored.
6. Does the multiple response updateable survey option have a timeout after which a respondent will generate a new response?
Yes, there is a 30 minute timeout. If a respondent does not complete a page in the survey for 30 minutes the session is ended and a new response will be generated. The timeout length is currently not editable.
7. I get an error creating a new survey
- Get your Vuture Administrator to check that "Admin.System.Diagnostics.Vx Advanced Logging" is not enabled.
- Also check that boilerplates are not enabled at "Admin.System.General.Boilerplates" unless you use survey boilerplates.
8. How do you calculate the "Ranking Average" for results to questions with a rating scale?
The Ranking Average refers to the "Mean Average". For each question, the total is the sum of the answer divided by the number of people who have filled out the answers (rounded to 1 decimal place). For example, if four respondents had filled out the form and the total sum of the results for one question was 11 points the calculation would be: 11 / 4 = 2.75. This would then be rounded up to 2.8.
9. Is it possible to implement a rating scale that allows users to select each number only once (e.g., rate topics from 1 to 10 without any repeating values)?
No, this is not currently accommodated in the Survey Module.
10. Is there a way to order surveys based on the date created?
No, it is not possible to order the surveys by the date they were created/published.
