Introduction
We wanted to help Dynamics clients by preventing the build up of duplicate contacts arising from contacts adding new details on blank forms.
Currently, if a blank form is submitted for Dynamics CRM, and if Create Duplicate Contacts is enabled, Vuture creates a new duplicate contact rather than using one of the contacts that may already exist, and then sends a message to the Data Steward.
What’s New
We have created a new configuration which is found at Admin-> System -> Microsoft Dynamics -> Pick the first duplicate contact
If this configuration is enabled, and Admin-> System -> Microsoft Dynamics -> Create duplicate contacts is disabled, Vuture will take the newly created details from a blank form and update the contact details and additional field details in the CRM on the most recently created duplicate contact, without creating a new duplicate.
Please Note: If Admin-> System -> Microsoft Dynamics -> Create duplicate contacts is enabled (It doesn't matter if Pick the first duplicate contact is also enabled), Vuture will create further duplicate contacts every time a form submission happens for a contact if there are already existing duplicates in Dynamics. If there is only a single contact record that matches, Vuture will add to the existing contact rather than create a duplicate. As previously, alert emails will be sent to the Data Steward for the creation of duplicate contacts.

FAQs
Q. Does this apply to blank forms only?
A. Yes.
Q. If there are already duplicate contacts in the crm, the configuration will “Pick the first duplicate contact” to update. Is that “first” by age of contact created or first by alphabetic sort or something else?
A. The more recently created contact. If there is a contact with duplicates; one of them was created a month back and another one was created just a couple of days ago, Vuture will pick the one that was created a couple of days ago as that is the more recent one.
