Keywords: Pause queue, activities, connection
Overview
CRMs Affected: InterAction only.
Prerequisites:
CSMs or Support should enable the scheduled task CrmHealthCheckTask.
Admin.Queue.PauseQueueWhenCrmIsDown - should be On.
Admin.Settings -Interaction - Monitor this Connection should be ticked.
WARNING: Client should have no security certificate exception in place so DO NOT use this if the platform has that exception in place, i.e. if you have something in admin/system.aspx#Category.SSL External Allowed List for the IA in question.
Description:
When a CRM is offline, there exists no live connection between the CRM and Vuture. If that occurs, we will notify the client that the connection is "down" and pause the queue. Pausing the queue means that Vuture will stop attempting to write back any activities during that time. If any email sends are attempted while the queue is paused, lists will not load and an error will be received.
When the connection is restored, the queue can be resumed and actions (such as email sending and form responses stored) can take place again. We will make best efforts to preserve the order of messages, but some messages might be delivered out of order.
Benefit:
This process allows more accurate recording of activities. Previously it would generate an error but we will now attempt to write back an activity only when the crm is up.
Notifying the client:
The process is written up for clients here https://support.vutu.re/hc/en-us/articles/360020702898-Monitor-the-live-connection-between-Vuture-and-InterAction
