Keywords: Dynamics; custom entities; object; contact lookup; campaign, marketing list
There is a slide deck covering this feature attached to the foot of this page.
There is a Vuture Only article, covering the required process, here.
Why did we do this?
This will allow clients to use custom entities (for example a survey object, or an alternative address in Dynamics) in Vuture Forms.
Prerequisites:
Dynamics v2 CRM integrated with Vuture's Email module
Access to the CRM Metadata Manager (your Vuture Customer Success Manager will do this for you).
Limitations:
This will only allow CSMs to map to objects that have a Contact, Campaign or Marketing List look up.
Results:
The result is that extra fields can now be pulled through to Vuture Forms. See image below, where the example of a possible custom entity is called VutureAddress:

FAQs
Q. Can we use the new entities in filters?
A. No the new entities cannot be used for filtering and are not displayed in the entity dropdown on filters screen.
Q. Can we use the new entities when creating triggers?
A. Yes, the fields from the new entities can be used in triggers in the same way as any other fields.
Q. I need further clarity on which fields to provide to set this up.
A. To set up the external entities integration, there are three lookup fields involved - the Contact look up field, Marketing List Lookup Field and Campaign Lookup Field.
Only the Contact look up id is mandatory. The Marketing List Lookup Field and Campaign Lookup Field are optional. That means external entities could have the following combination of lookup fields:
1) Only contact lookup field
2) Contact lookup field and Marketing List Lookup Field
3) Contact lookup field and Campaign Lookup Field
Q. As a client, what do I need to provide to my CSM to make these fields appear in the Form Editor?
A. Provide the Entity Name. The Entity needs to have:
- Primary Key
- Contact lookup field
- Either Campaign or Marketing lookup fields (Optional)
- Additional optional field(s)
Important: Please ensure that the Vuture account has read and write access to the Entity and fields in your CRM.
