Currently, your client instance and your data reside in the data centre of your choice. You will have chosen this data centre during the project phase of your Vuture implementation. Your instance and data never get moved away from this data centre unless you ask us to.

Vuture can move your instance to a data centre in a different geography should you choose.

FAQs

Q: Can we move only EU citizens' data to the EU?

A: We can only move the ENTIRE instance and ALL data.  We cannot split it out and have data in different regions. Thus, the entire instance and data will be moved. If you want your data separated, you will have to have another instance.

 

Q: When we decide to use a European server location, will GDPR automatically apply to this server? 

A: Per our knowledge of GDPR, it doesn't matter where the server is; what matters is, if the personal data belongs to EU citizens, then it has to be GDPR compliant. If you believe the data may contain that of EU citizens then you have to be GDPR compliant already. By moving your data into the EU, you would be assisting with compliance regarding data transfer regulations.

 

Q: How long will it take to build up a server in Europe?

A: The server is already built. Unless you want your own server (at extra cost) we already have a setup in Germany. The question should be "how long will it take for our instance and data to be moved, after it is booked in with the technical team" - it should take 15 business days from original request. 

 

Q: How long will deleted data be stored by Vuture? 

A: We have various methods of data deletion available. You can setup your automated data retention policy, to whatever period you like, and personal data will be deleted after that. By default all data remains indefinitely, unless a retention period is set.

 

Q: Who is the data owner at any time? The user or Vuture? 

A: You (the client) are the data owner (controller). Vuture is the data processor.
