Pre-header text, also known as preview text, is a snippet of copy pulled in from the body of your email and typically displayed underneath the sender name and subject line in a subscriber’s inbox. This text will help your subscribers decide whether or not to open your email so it is worth considering, along with Sender Name, and Subject Line, as part of the optimization effort to influence your readers.

The display will differ depending on the email client in use.  Each email client displays a different number of characters, varying from 35 to 140 characters, and some email clients do not support preview text at all.  This should be kept in mind when deciding what text to show. 

There are several ways to get your emails to display pre-header text in the email clients which support this feature:

1.  Have an update made to your templates by the Vuture team.  This is  a chargeable feature.  If you are interested please contact your Account Manager.   There are instructions for the Vuture team here.

2.  When you have new templates built in future, request that this feature is included.  There will be no extra charge for this.

3.  If you are HTML Admin trained and have the function enabled in your system you could do this yourself for no charge. However, please be aware that if you introduce an error into your templates by working on them yourself, there will be a charge if the Vuture team have to fix them for you.
